On April 25, 2019, The Smoky Mountain Brass Band and the University of North Carolina Asheville Wind Ensemble where honored to perform a joint concert with renowned band composer James Curnow. Each band performed a set, then combined to perform a final piece.
In October of 2000, The Smoky Mountain Brass Band and the Mars Hill Wind Symphony performed together in concert and this beautiful CD is a result of that performance.
On December 5, 1995, the Smoky Mountain Brass Band and the Smoky Mountain Chorale under the direction of John West and James Dooley, respectively, recorded a festive collection of Christmas and holiday season music. Christmas Voices and Brass was arranged by James Dooley and Richard Trevarthen, founder of the Smoky Mountain Brass Band.
The second album created by the Smoky Mountain Brass Band. There isn’t a lot of information about it, other than it came from the personal collection of one of our members. The album is dedicated to the memory of Dr. E. Wayne Pressley.
The first album created by the Smoky Mountain Brass Band was recorded late in the last century. The quality of the recording is such that we feel it should be passed on for everyone to enjoy.
