The Smoky Mountain Brass Band is a British-style brass band located in Asheville, NC. We were formed in April, 1981, by Western Carolina University music professor Richard Trevarthen and a small cadre of the finest brass players in Western North Carolina. Since then we have performed in and around Western North Carolina, the Southeast and the nation.
